Taranaki is about to become Well Fed!

Well-Fed Well-Fed

On October 26, 2019, Well Fed is coming to the TSB Showplace. This health event is unlike any other that has come before it. Well Fed is bringing you the best minds in Health and Nutrition from New Zealand and Australia. Clinical nutritionists, doctors, authors, master chefs, self-made millionaires, political advocates and all around experts in their field.

Michelle Yandle, Well Fed’s primary organiser has wanted to bring an event of this calibre to Taranaki for a very long time.  Having seen the growth in the area of health and wellness since moving here 10 years ago, she felt it was time to show the rest of New Zealand (and the world!) what we have to offer.

Usually these types of events happen only in the larger city centres, says Michelle. So why New Plymouth?

“Well Fed has two goals in mind; to gift the community a health and wellness event like no other, and to show the rest of New Zealand everything Taranaki has to offer,” she says.

Michelle wanted to bring in speakers that in many cases, have never been to Taranaki before and these world renowned experts will not disappoint. Guided by local celebrity and podcast creator Hohepa Te Moana, Well Fed brings you topics that bring together all areas of wellness from hormone health to social justice, and  guarantees that everyone will leave inspired.

Researcher, clinical nutritionist and naturopath, Cliff Harvey, will be focusing on the key concepts  of his latest book The Credo which investigates the idea that ‘health is not the goal’ it is merely the platform from which we can achieve great things that drive our passion and purpose.

Sunniva Holt, aka Queen Fire, is the embodiment of living a life on her own terms. She will take you through what having a life on your own terms means, why it matters, and offer some simple tips and strategies on how you can create this for yourself.

With more people leaning towards a plant-based approach to diet, this is a good opportunity to take stock of the nutrients we need to consider in order to augment our health. Clinical Nutrionist and PhD, Mikki Williden will discuss protein, fibre and micronutrients in the context of a vegetarian diet, and practical recommendations for groups most at risk of deficiencies.

Scott Gooding, an Australian Celebrity Chef, author and restaurant owner, will be demonstrating his skills in the kitchen as well as sharing his ???

Political activist, Richie Hardcore, and Lara Briden – hormone expert, promise you will leave Well Fed empowered, motivated and having concrete action to improve your health.

Whether you’re a health professional or someone simply looking to make some changes, this is an educational experience you won’t want to miss.

For the Foodies, we’ve got some amazing local and NZ based health food producers coming along to entice your tastebuds. From Hunter Gatherer Gourmet’s delicious allergy friendly baking mixes to Marlaina’s Kitchen and ___ chillies spicing up your dinner plates.

“All our producers will have options to buy and no doubt some amazing show specials,” says Michelle, who adds that she has been incredibly humbled by the overwhelming support she has received for this inaugural event.

Local buisnesses such as Favour the Brave, Vogue Kitchens, Health 2000, Olena Williams Media, Best Siiide and The Professionals Real Estate all jumped on board to help make Well Fed a success. Not only that but Nuzest New Zealand is a major partner along with Reconditioned.me and Holistic Performance Nutrition.

“Just knowing that these companies believe in me, and Well Fed from the start has given me the confidence to take this leap, despite the fear, and give it everything I can to make it the best it can be.”
